Black Forest Design & Build is a full service remodeling company based out of Lancaster County, PA. We are a small, experienced team that loves designing and building new spaces. We think that remodeling should be an exciting experience where your ideas come to life. We blend custom designs with expert craftsmanship to create durable, functional spaces unique to you and your style.

We also believe in making the process of remodeling a more painless one. We manage and coordinate all portions of your project, provide you with a clear schedule that we stick to, and stay in communication with you throughout, to make sure the project always feels under control.

We are clear about how much a job will cost, how long it will take to complete, and how we intend to overcome challenges that may arise. We make certain that our customers are never caught off guard, which creates better outcomes in the end.

We need to know what you desire your project to look like, how you feel about the progression of the project, and how your experience could be improved. By keeping our ears open we are better able to ensure that we are meeting your needs from the first appointment to the final day of construction.

Communication is the foundation to all our working relationships. Through communication we are able to better plan and execute jobs. It also allows us to provide homeowners with more peace of mind by always keeping them up to date with what’s happening on their project.

From experience, we know that thinking outside of the box leads to better outcomes. Creativity helps us to conceptualize unique and original designs, troubleshoot issues that seem impossible to solve, and makes our work both more effective and enjoyable.

The more you care about your work and the people you are working for, the better that work will be. It is important to us that that our employees, fellow contractors and vendors, care about what they do. We believe that the care we show in our work helps us to consistently meet and exceed your expectations.

Joel has always been a creative and determined person. Growing up in Lancaster County, carpentry was his first passion and he spent much of his time building reclaimed furniture from old barn wood he found in his family garage. His passion to create drove him to the field of remodeling in which he has been working for the past ten years. Joel loves creating and performing the tangible tasks that bring design to life, and his love for his work is what makes him so good at it. He sees each day as an opportunity to improve his craft and figure out new ways to improve the remodeling experience he brings to customers. When he is not working he is spending time with his wife and 4 children, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors.

During this time, she received an AKBD accreditation which she holds to this day, and in 2012, she won a NKBA  award for Best Budget Friendly Bath Design. When Beth is not working, she likes spending time with her family and friends, running, playing basketball, and watching the Eagles and Sixers.
