They took on our large 2nd floor addition, which included adding a dormer to our attic with 3 bedrooms + a primary bath and 1st floor dining room/bath reno during the winter and the pandemic. “We hired Black Forest to redo our kitchen, dining room, powder room, flooring on the first floor, rec room, and build some cubbies and lockers in the foyer. It was a massive (to us) project that we were a bit terrified of after having a not so great experience with another contractor who did some smaller jobs before we moved in to the house. Luckily Joel, Beth, and the entire Black Forest team were beyond exceptional. They were extremely organized, stuck to their schedule, professional (and a lot of fun), and helpful throughout the project. And the (nearly) finished project is so nice that we are actually having them redo some little things the previous contractor just did not do up to the level of quality that Black Forest provides. As far as the process went, the only disappointing thing was that we could not get on their schedule soon enough to hire them for the work we wanted done before we moved in too. Beth is fantastic up front with the design, communicating what might work and might not, and more importantly, the whys. She is extremely patient with people who can't make a decision (like us), and she does a great job of putting you at ease with decisions and keeping you on track and on budget. When the meat of the work starts and you are turned over to Joel, the excellent service continues. We were extremely impressed with how clean the worksite was after every single day, and I'm not sure I can stress this enough because it's almost unbelievable. When issues arose the team communicated them right away and worked with you to find the best solution. Joel and his team are extremely thorough and detail oriented as well. Their organization level is exceptional to the point where we did not have to worry or stress over anything during the project. On top of that, the work is exceptional. At the end of the project, not only did we get what we wanted and more from the renovations, we felt like we got to work with and know some really great people. The best recommendation we can give is that we are already saving up to hire them for the next project; we'll never have to look for anyone else for home improvements again.”
